I love the classic look of an oversized button down collared shirt and the abundant ways in which they can be styled. In the summer, this closet staple is my go-to swim cover-up. You can find this "beach shirt" style cover-up available at many retailers, but I recommend stopping by your local thrift to get this look.
In the menswear section of many thrift stores is always an abundance of dress shirts ranging from $3-$8 in many cases. I thrifted this Ralph Lauren button down for just $4 at my Goodwill and it's become my absolute favorite cover-up. I love the lightweight cotton material, the fit, and the classic style blue stripe design. I have found that dress shirts are often some of the most heavily donated items and this could be a great, sustainable, way to repurpose and give new life to this common thrift store item.
